Just wanted to let you know that a beta release is now available for everyone to try out! At least, you'll get a good idea of what the program is all about.

Did you drop this project, or are you still working on it now and then?

This project is a good long way down the to-do list at the moment, although I got quite far along with it.

The major problem I had, was that delphi is a bit too heavy, producing inefficient code with memory leaks and nasty stuff like that. Example:

mIRC - when running, uses up 1.1M of memory.
WoWIRC - when running, ~10M and increasing while running.

Also, I want to be able to make some fancy transparent windows similar to the chat-boxes in the game, and the functionality in Delphi is very limited regarding this.

I would really like to pick up where I left and see if I could finish the project some time. Perhaps in another language - c# maybe?

I could be of a little help if you choose to use C#. However, I know that it's going to eat away a lot of memory. I think I tried to find out how much it ate with just a window with a text-area on. 15 mb perhaps? I guess it can be limited if there's a buffer-limiter on the window object, but I think I have to look elsewhere.

Anyway, I'm kinda preoccupied with PHP at the moment, but I'd like to look at some C# again some time, cause my 'skills' are deteriorating.
